There’s something magical about race day in Toronto. The streets close, the city comes alive, and runners from all over the world take to the course for the TCS Toronto Waterfront Marathon. This year, you can be part of the energy in a whole new way—by greeting marathon morning with yoga, right on the race course.

On Sunday, October 19th, join us for Sunrise Overpass Yoga, a 45-minute vinyasa flow on the Lakeshore W Overpass, where you’ll practice as the sun rises over the skyline and the city gets ready to welcome thousands of athletes.

When class ends, we’ll walk down together to Dan Leckie and Lakeshore, one of the most electric spots on the course, to cheer on the incredible marathoners competing for the Canadian Marathon Championships. It’s the perfect combination of calm, movement, and celebration—all before most people have had their morning coffee.

How to Make the Most of Your Morning

To ensure your experience is as smooth and joyful as possible, here are a few tips:

1. Arrive Early

Roads will close to vehicles at 6:00 am, so give yourself time to park and walk to the overpass. Access is available via Rees or Dan Leckie. We recommend arriving by 6:30 am so you can settle in and soak up the quiet before class begins.

2. Dress in Layers

October mornings can be brisk. Bring cozy layers—a jacket, gloves, or a hat—that you can peel off once your body warms up in the flow.

3. Hydrate

Even cool-weather yoga can work up a sweat. Drink water beforehand and have a bottle handy for after class.

4. Stay and Cheer

The best part of marathon morning is the community spirit. Once we roll up our mats, we’ll join the crowd at Dan Leckie and Lakeshore to cheer on the runners. Your encouragement may be the boost an athlete needs to keep pushing forward.

Whether you’re a runner, a yogi, or simply someone who loves the magic of race day, Sunrise Overpass Yoga is a chance to be part of something bigger. Flow with us, breathe with us, and then raise your voice for the runners. Together, we’ll create an unforgettable start to marathon morning.
